HI GUYS.
I watched Little Mermaid in theaters two days ago with a few friends of mine!!! I went because 1) freaking 2D Disney film on the big screen? hell yeah and 2)
GLEN KEANE WOULD BE THERE!!!!!!!! note: He animated Ariel, Beast, Aladdin, Tarzan, Pocahontas and many other characters.
aaaaaaaaaand guess what I got before the screening (and before everybody recognized Keane XD)

I sorta wished he sketched something, but I'm not going to be greedy!!!!!!!!!Anyway, I talked to him how I was in the UCLA animation MFA program, and he said he talked there 10 years ago. XD I asked him if I could interview him for my seminar thing and he said if he had free time by then~ I FORGOT TO ASK HIM FOR HIS EMAIL OR CONTACT INFO JUST IN CASE. gawd, brain was not functioning. I didn't forget to tell him that I loved Tangled. <3333 eeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeee ... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Moving on, seeing Little Mermaid in theaters was very very very different. I noticed everything looked more blurry, and I saw mistakes way more easily than before. XD The fact that Andreas Deja said the animation for Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast was wonky didn't help at all (ahahahah). Even so, I teared up watching "Part of Your World". No matter how many times I see that sequence, I get goosebumps. It's freaking Disney magic, man. Their plots are usually predictable and meh (even I can admit that much, lollll), but their characters are so full of life!! *aspire* xD
After the screening, Glen Keane stood up and talked about his previous works and his most recent work Tangled. He sounds like a freakin' priest when he talks about animation. <33 (he even went into Christian mode at one point, LOL) He showed hilarious clips of him making weird faces when he draws (his... face... XD), and a scene out of Tangled when the hair was still in the testing stages... oh God, that was epic. First her hair went through Flynn's chair, and then it EXPLODED and surrounded her body like Tangela from Pokemon. XD And this whole time, she's still walking and talking like nothing happened. My description does not give it justice. XD
I SHALL WORK HARDER, GLEN KEANE. ;----; and maybe in like 20 years I can be halfway good as you.
