I haz a new Sony VAIO (I keep typing vaoi... I wonder why... /sarcasm) laptop!!! :DDD

My poor Fujifuji laptop was so beaten up that my dad pitied me enough to buy me a new one... haha. >_> I'm missing a G key, an ALT key, and my left shift key is half broken. Man, I KILL laptop keyboards, WTF. I blame this on the fact that for years I used my home computer's keyboard which was like a rock and would NOT pick up your keystrokes unless you slam your fingers on the keys... koff. Not to mention, the right side of my screen is messed up. And for some mysterious reason, Fujifuji starts up extremely slowly and Firefox takes a million years to open. I can't tell whether he's getting oooooooooold or I just need to uninstall programs...?? @_@;

I named my new laptop VANITAS cuz I am just that obsessed with you-know-what. HEH. He's equipped with Windows 7, some fancy-pants dedicated graphics card and lots of RAM and... uuuh... other computer lingo... all for the sake of doing animation work, w00t. I'm not sure why Windows keeps failing hard whenever it updates its displays. They're so freakin' difficult to customize. On top of that, Cleartype (AKA Blurrytype) is not for me. >:| Took me awhile to realize all I had to do was disable Cleartype to make the text clear to read again (IRONY). But Vanitas is working just fine and I'm reinstalling a bajillion programs into him. XDDD I need to install Photoshop again though... uuuugh... ;-;
I also haz my first LASER MOUSE. I wonder what I should name it. *shot* Didn't people get those like a decade ago? Why am I so late?

And Mabinogi works again, LOLLOL. I need to tell Aniki and Jana, they would be happy. XD But my character mysteriously disappeared so I need to remake him.

I felt lke uploading one of the artworks I did in Advanced Drawing class last spring quarter. I put this in my animation portfolio~

W00T, Thanksgiving break. I should be furiously working on my artist statement, catching up on my art homework, and studying for my Japanese final, BUUUT....

I decided to goof off and watch cable TV for the first time in months. 8D LOL, I FAIL.
I managed to catch the last part of Ben 10: The Alien Swarm and ... for a cartoon -> live-action movie, it was actually not that bad(!?). I actually want to see the entire thing now, LOL. And the actors for Ben and Kevin were really good looking (I R SHALLOW, Y/Y?). But I have nothing to fear, because even though they're "supposed" to be 15, the actors are STILL older than me. God, I find it hard to find "teenage" actors on TV who are YOUNGER than me... besides Zack and Cody or something. :|

I also watched the extras for the UP movie my parents bought me. Dug's Secret Mission was sooooooo cute!!! And the commentary on the movie was very eye-opening. I always take Pixar's insanely awesome art direction and graphics for granted. Apparently they went all the way to South America and hiked up those huuuuge plateau-looking things to take notes and sketches(!!!). MAAAAN, if I become an insanely awesome animator/artist in an animation studio, would I do crazy trips like that? *SPARKLE* I need to try harder then! The way those artists talked about the environment and the fine details that they noticed was so inspiring~~~ I hope that if I get into an animation program, I get to meet amazing classmates like that too. People who just love observing the world around them and never stop finding new things to be fascinated about. :D

And I did my daily "omg must check KH news" ritual (cough!) and found this SUUUUPER CUTE picture. I was wondering why the magazines were only releasing pictures of the older Org. members. Not that I mind, but I was wondering "heeey what did the younger members look like?"

Gosh, almost the end of this really stress-filled awful fall quarter.

Why this quarter sucked/sucks:
- When I'm stressed and I have no time to have brain-shut-down fun, I get really bitchy. I apologize to my roommates. >_>
- KANJI QUIZZES
- I got a horrible runny nose and fatigue on week 1. Somewhere in week 4-5, I got sick AGAIN. Then last Sunday, I got horribly nauseous and had a huge headache which honestly felt like a metal clamp was tightening around my skull. I could barely drink water and I ate nothing for dinner. I begged my work to let me off and they did. I slept from 6PM to 6AM. >___>;; AND I USUALLY GET SICK ONCE A YEAR.
- APPLICATIONS. (still working on my second to last one, ha ha ha ha)
- Learning that I should've applied for Calarts character animation instead, HA HA HA HA.... I need better advice......

BUT YA KNOW... I actually wanted to post in my LJ because of a happy thing that happened today. Funny how I get so pessimistic. 8D

I had a fun time in figure drawing class today. XDDD We had hour long poses(!) and we had a male model. I figured I need to practice drawing the face, so rendered his face in brown and white conte on green paper. I also put a white halo around his head because there was a BLIIINDING light behind him pointed straight at our direction. Apparently the model liked it so much that he said he would buy it from me. LOLLL!!!!!!!!! I said I need it for my portfolio and he asked me when the portfolio thing is done. And then I thought, "WTF, HE WAS SERIOUS?" XDDDDDDD I never had somebody so adamant about buying my artwork before. I'm super flattered. xD

Oh yeah, and I'm gonna upload all the art stuff I've been doing in classes here and on Deviantart after this quarter ends. W00T.

- I won two tiny Gurren Lagann keychains from the anime club raffle~ I got VIRAL and KAMINA. HOW DAMN LUCKY CAN I GET!? I want Simon too though. XD
- Raz-berry (lollol) dessert... thing? SORRY, I DON'T KNOW THE NAME. I will eat it soon enough and return the pan, I promise!!
- Kingdom Hearts mascot keychains!!! SORA, RIKU, AND KAIRI. $10 EACH!!! OMGGGGG, $5 CHEAPER THAN AX. XDDD How sad is that?
- This week's Shounen Jump! ... but I realized the hard way that I somehow forgot to read last week's chapters(!?)

I also went on a funfun trip to Little Tokyo today with anime club~~~~~~~ 8D I bought the first volume of ULTIMO(!!!!!!!!!) and a pokemon strategy guide but it was a huge ripoff and I wasted $13 bucks on it >:|. I REALLY REALLY WANTED PLAY-ARTS ZIDANE!!!!!!! *SOBS* But I repeatedly told myself, "NO, YOU HAVE NO MONEY. STOPPIT." So I'm buying him in the next trip... ;o; I also got to hang out with the dudes of the club for a bit. They are so much fun and nice this quarter~ Usually they tend to be creepy so we got really lucky this year!!!

SO NOW... my Stitch bag has a whole mess of keychains. XDDD I have Hetalia!Korea keychain from AX, Sai from Naruto, Viral and Kamina from Gurren Lagann, and Riku and Kairi and Sora from Kingdom Hearts. It's a partay~~~
I was never into keychains but now I'm going down the dark dark path.... >_> Dammit, they're so damn tiny yet so damn expensiiiiiiiiiiiive.

Since I've been whining about kanji quizzes, I thought... WHY NOT WHINE S'MORE?

Anyway, Sensei emailed us ALLLLL the kanji lists we had so far... so these are the kanji words we had to know the readings of, and know the meanings of, and WRITE OUT OF MEMORY in six weeks. And also, these were all tested on that monster quiz I had on Wednesday, LOLLLLLLLLLL.

To put this in perspective, we only had to memorize 150~180 kanji characters EACH QUARTER.
To make it even MORE funny...

I am currently half dead since I only slept 4 hours today because I had to study for my kanji quiz right after my animation class, which ended at 10PM, and then I had to wake up at 6AM for work today. WHOOT!!!

IF ONLY I WAS CHINESE, THIS WOULD BE A BREEZE.

I hope everybody had a fun Halloween weekend (4 days ago? LOL)! I went to my friend's birthday party on Halloween, and I dressed up as season 1 Setsuna from Gundam 00. XD My hair was too long but... oh well! We played videogames, went out in costume and ordered sushi from Sushiya, ate delicious brownies and cake, got some little kid trick or treaters (so sad they have to live in a crappy college kid neighborhood), watched Nightmare Before Christmas and Blade, and got harrassed by three groups of dudes (Halloween in Isla Vista brings out the best in male population... NOT *ROLLS EYES*). Only one year left to spend with all my friends~~ need to make it worth it!


In other news:
I'm applying for the JET program! .. last second, I know. e____e;;;;;;;;; One of my profs suggested that going to Japan for a year before grad school would be good for me so I was like, "WOAH THAT'S A GOOD IDEA!" But the deadline is at November 24, lollol ouch. I suck at this deadline thing. Ughhh.
And I'm still working on my animation portfolio.... I have an obvious lack of storyboards and that makes me very very very sad. How can I animate if my brain is like a dusty desert with only a few tumbleweeds!? >:\ I don't feed my creativity enough. ;_; Aw well, for now I'm working on a layout/concept(?) picture for one of the stories I'm working out in my head.

Uhm, critique plz? I know it's superduper rough. Maybe like... composition and color? :| I never ever ever do backgrounds... ha ha ha ha... or COLOR in general.


And I want to vent about Japanese class.

AAAAAAAAAAH GRAD SCHOOLLLLLL APPLICATIONS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I'm having an extreme trouble choosing whether I should apply for character animation or experimental animation in Calarts.

I am definitely DEEEFINITELY 200x more fit to be in character animation. I have a crap ton of figure drawing from class and random observational drawings littered throughout my sketchbooks. I even had animal drawing class!! HOWEVER... the program gives me a second BFA... and it's four more years in school even if those 4 years will be filled with blissful animating time, W00T. What use do I have for two BFAs!?

Experimental animation on the other hand would lead me to an MFA, and my animation teacher said what the industry's looking for nowadays is a masters. But I looked at the works they did and that's just not me. I don't really care about animating a turtle that randomly transforms into an orange or something cracky like that. I'm too traditionalist for my own good. ._. I looked around on some websites and they said experimental animators don't have to do all the prereqs that character animators have to do, and your facilities are (a little?) nicer.

B-but... there's no way I can get into the experimental animation program with a clearly character animation portfolio. .. can I? I can't even find examples of experimental animation portfolios!!! I have until December 1st for the preferred deadline, but that means I have to give a week or more in advance to mail everything. But at the moment, I'm applying for experimental... .___.;;; The most original work I have done is in class (even though they recommended NOT to do that) but they were mostly out of my brain since the prompts were so vague.......... I need more faith in my own works outside of class and not beg for approval all the time. x___x...

AAAAH SOMEBODY SAVE ME FROM MY TORMENT.

I'm also applying for USC and UCLA. USC's deadline is at December 1st and UCLA's is at February 1st (THANK GOODNESS). I'm dying from streeeeeeeeeeeeess.

I know the Kingdom Hearts modellers are INSANELY good at keeping accurate to the Disney characters far howeverrrrr... Prince Phillip looks like a scrawny 14 year old. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!??!?!?

He looks even more awful in his full character shot. OTL I thought he was really handsome in the movie too. ;___;!!!! Aurora's eyes kind of creep me out too since they were originally black with thicker eyelashes. o_O But she definitely looks closer to her original self than her prince. >.>;;

I saw the new info on Terra, Aqua, and Ventus' teacher Master Erauqs. He's a spiffy looking old samurai. XD His name is "Square" backwards, LMFAO!! He is pretty much Yen Sid. XDDD
And Helmet-Head is Vanitas, which means emptiness in Latin (I think)? He sure does look like he has an attitude in the new magazine scan. But lemme guess, he'll become my fave character EVAR, even if he turns out to be a butthead. I can see this coming.

I was wondering when mangahelpers would update chapter 9 of Ultimo, so I checked online and there was an English version~~~!! So I read it and... uuuh... yeah... I screamed a lot.

I also stumbled upon the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days manga, and I thought it wasn't being published yet. I looooved chapter 1!! I want to buy the tankoubon now. ;__;
There's a problem when the MANGA has far more interesting characterizations of the Organization XIII than the freakin' original videogame. OTL
At least I can get plenty of scenes where Roxas 'n co. are simply ADORRRRABLE. <3

I just found out about a manga called Fudanshism which is about a guy who falls in love with a girl who turns out to be a fujoshi. Through a weird turn of events, he starts crossdressing as a girl to enter doujinshi events to meet her. XDDDDDD I actually learned some fujoshi terminology, LMAOOOOO. XDDD What makes this manga even funnier is that it ran in a seinen magazine and it has really random fanservice for guys, AKA panty shots. I randomly found out about this manga because I wanted to know what "fudanshi" (rotten guy) meant and the Wikipedia article mentioned it. XD I thought fudanshi would mean a guy who likes hentai/yuri or something, but it's actually just a male version of a fujoshi. HAHAHA.
I haven't read much yet and I should be doing homework but this is too amusiiiiiiiing.

IN OTHER NEWS...
Japanese Advanced Reading's twice-a-week kanji quizzes are killing me. It's already the 3rd week. *HEADDESK*
Japanese mythology is also stressful, but the teacher changed the due date of the myth essay from Wednesday to Monday. W00T. Me and apparently TWO OTHER PEOPLE are doing the same topic: Okami. XDDDDD Only in a freakin' college can you stand in front of the class and say you're writing a scholarly essay on a videogame. I had to do that, as embarassing as it was.

My emotional stress is really bearing down on me and I can't stop thinking I suck as a human being. I can barely do homework for my other two classes. AHHH. How did my self esteem fall so far? =_=;;; I know I shouldn't think that because I just get my friends worried @#)(@#)(*@ AHHHH.

I started reading this manga when I was in 9th grade (2003, LOLLLLL) because I fell in love with the anime through anime club and I still read it so that makes it... 6 years? DAMN. I know it's a huge fad (well, more so a few years ago with the Chuunin arc) and more serious anime fans think it's a thorn in the side like DBZ, but I can't get enough of the characters~~~ Especially Naruto~!

I'll never forget what drives Naruto is not because he wants to be the best ninja ever, but because his experience of being alone and unwanted makes him appreciate his friends and empathize with his enemies more than anyone else. <3 I think that's what makes his character, and several other characters with his similar situation, unique to me. The scene after Naruto defeats Gaara always made me want to tear up. ;_;

LOL, I'm so mushy when it comes to my fandoms.
And I'm pretty depressed lately, so maybe that's why. >_>

In other news, what Gaara said in the new Naruto chapter cracked me up.

I have to read the entire book "Myth: A Handbook" for Japanese mythology (150+ pages) by tomorrow, which I'm obviously not going to be able to do since I have a huge kanji quiz tomorrow.

I never got so uppity about Disney-hating but when I'm forced to read through a book filled with it when it's SUPPOSED to be teaching me about freakin' mythology, I'm going to blow up. =_=;;

Now I'm awaiting fandom response to the ultimate Kingdom Hearts Mary Sue Xion, the 14th member of the Organization XIII. Oh, and I want to see how people will like the lovely laundry-list missions and the "normal" Heartless with a ridiculous number of health bars and the final WTF??? boss battle.
And worst of all, how the only Org. members who got any sort of character development were Axel, Roxas (duh), Saix, and Xigbar. :| COME OOOOON.

And now I'm slightly depressed that Birth by Sleep was moved to January. D: I can't get it as my Christmas present now. ;o; Apparently there was a TGS trailer for Birth by Sleep that showed Terra/Ven/Aqua's teacher and he looked like a samuraiii!!! And helmet-guy-that-looks-like-evil-Riku also spoke! GAHHHH, I MUST SEEEEEEEEEEEE.

In other news, I had to type up a two page double spaced definition on folklore with FOUR CITATIONS from encyclopedias/dictionaries and it's due on the second day of class, WTF. One encyclopedia from 1993 said in the definition of folklore that college "hootenannies" were popular.
"Hootenannies"? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT WORD? That's like finding "LOL" in the encyclopedia. XD I won't be surprised, actually.

SO! Start of the fall quarter! What do we get?
A freakin' huge freshman class (yet again), and on top of that, decreasing of individual classes and increasing of class size. And in exchange, our tuition will be increased.
SAY WHAT?

I experienced this first hand when I tried to crash Filipino-Americans class. I actually had an early pass-time and COULD'VE signed up for it, but because I like spacing out and forgetting important things, I forgot my second pass time and it got full. DAMMIT. Anyway, the classroom was freakin' crowded and there was only used, stale air to breathe (EW). The teacher told us about the walk-out and stuff. @_@ Apparently professors are getting paid less and some are even being forced to take unpaid vacation time??? Ugh, why economy, WHYYYY? Funny how things we think only affect us can eventually screw over everybody else. Kind of a scary thought....

Besides that, I had a fun time going to Intermediate Drawing (Figure Drawing) AGAIN! I'm the only one taking this class a second time I think. That girl who draws reallyreally good animals is there too. I hope I don't creep her out by my endless admiration. >_>;; Mannnn, why am I not a social butterfly!? I need more artist friendssssssss... I want to have drawing parties/exchanges... *lonely!*

Today, I went to Japanese Advanced reading class. The professor was very young looking, blonde, and had really cute black framed glasses. A third class with an young attractive male professor? FINE BY ME. XD Pfft, wouldn't have expected this before I came to college, that's for sure. He could speak fluent Japanese and I was pretty damn impressed!! I'm glad I can practice my speaking still! <3 I can talk Japanese so well to myself or in my head but once I try to communicate with somebody else, I feel like a 5 year old. >_x Meh.

Anyway, I named my dude (yes, I chose the dude because girl with giant hat and pigtails is a little too much for me) Ra-se-n-su because there weren't enough spaces for Rasenth(!!!). :| I got a Cyndaquil and named him Axel. XD My goal is to name all my Pokemon after a Kingdom Hearts character (including the Disney ones) and see if will I actually run out. XD
I also named my rival "AHO-SUKE" because I despise his guts. I would've given him a more uncool/stupid nickname if I knew more Japanese insults. *evil*

I can't wait to get access to the online trading thing so I can bother people with Platinum/Diamond to trade me some Pokemonz. YEY!!! <3333 I haven't linked up with somebody for Pokemon since 6TH GRADE. I need to make up for my childhood. >:|

OH HEY GUYZ,
I watched the 9 animated movie. I thought it was pretty good, and I'm surprised the reviews were pretty meh about it. Figures, since it's a pretty weird movie. My favorite part of the movie was how unique each character was! I ESPECIALLY liked the twins 3 and 4. Here's a poster of them. D'awwwwwwwww, if I wouldn't squish them to death since they're so tiny I would hug those two. :D!!! I guess the reason I like the movie so much is that I can forgive wonky plot if the characters are well developed. So good job to Shane Acker who I found out was the REAL director. I thought the brains behind the movie was Tim Burton, but it was just the dumb advertisement campaign's fault for mixing me up on that.
AMERICA, RELEASE MORE PG-13 ANIMATED MOVIES. D: *DESPAIR*
